John and Cindy Zielke, Dover, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Kristen Marie Zielke, to Shayne Matthew Wahlmeier, son of Cam and Dorrene Wahlmeier, Wamego.

Grandparents of the groom are Robert and Catherine Wahlmeier, Hays, Elsie Stegman, St. John's in Victoria, and the late Felix Stegman.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Mission Valley High School and will graduate in December from Baker University with a degree in nursing.

The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of Rock Creek High School and Kansas State University with a degree in industrial engineering and a business minor. He is employed by Wal-Mart Logistics, Cheyenne, Wyo.

A Jan. 23, 2010, wedding is planned at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Manhattan.
