Larry and Melinda Venn, Derby, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Jenny Venn, to Mark Bowers, son of Paul and Barb Bowers, Topeka.

Grandparents are Leroy and Gloria Venn, Della Milner and the late Robert Milner.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Fort Hays State University with a bachelor's of fine arts degree and a master's of fine arts degree in graphic design. She is an assistant professor of art and graphic design at the University of Wyoming, Laramie, Wyo.

The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of FHSU with a bachelor's degree in communication-journalism and a master's degree in communication studies. He is an instructor of journalism and communication at Pratt Community College.

A June 21, 2008, wedding is planned at Hidden Lakes Golf Course, Derby.
