Winifred C. Hamm Polifka
Polifka, Winifred C. Hamm, 81, of Brigantine, NJ, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2008. She was born and received her education in Atlantic City, NJ. Married to a career Army officer, she traveled extensively during her lifetime. She always had a love for her hometown of Atlantic City and eventually retired in Brigantine, NJ. Winnie loved to be surrounded by her family and friends; was an active volunteer in numerous organizations; had a passion for playing bridge and for the music of Sinatra and the big band sound. Her true love was her family. This was evidenced by her involvement and active participation in the accomplishments and careers of all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Winnie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald; daughter, Mary Helen Crane and husband Glenn B. Crane of Titusville, Florida; her sons Donald Kenneth Polifka, Jr. and wife Judy of Kinsale, Virginia and Christopher August Polifka of Kona, Hawaii; her sisters Pauline Davis and Augustus Hannon; four grandchildren; and five loving great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 28th at 4:30 p.m. at the Keates-¬Plum Funeral Home, 3112 Brigantine Avenue, Brigantine, NJ.
