Vera Rose Milke
Vera Rose Milke, 78, Hays, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at her home.
She was born July 3, 1930, in Antonino to John and Regina (Bieker) Jacobs.
She married Clarence Milke on July 20, 1953, in Hays. She worked approximately 12 years at K-Mart, at her daughter-in-law's day care, and the last nine years at Total Convenience Store, Victoria.
She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Rod Milke and wife, Lori, Hays; a brother, Vernon Jacobs and wife, Gladys, Kansas City; three sisters, Janice Kaba and husband, Jim, Plainville, Betty Werth and husband, Harold, Quinter, and Georgine Fisher and husband, Alfred, Palco; and seven grandchildren, Zachary Milke, Durango, Colo., Joseph Milke and Sarah Milke, both of Greeley, Colo., Emilie Eaton, Ellis, Ben Milke, Lusk, Wyo., Matthew Milke, Hays, and Jessica Beaver, Orlando, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a son, Joe Milke; a brother, Harvey Jacobs; and two sisters, Alma Leiker and Joyce Jacobs.
Services were Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.
Memorials are suggested to DeBakey Heart Institute or the charity of the donor's choice in care of Hays Memorial Chapel, 20th and Pine.
