Glenda L. Townsend
Glenda L. Townsend, 88, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at Abilene Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 2, 1920, in Salina to D.W. and Nancy Easter (Wallace) Hopkins.
She married Dean D. Townsend on April 26, 1942. He preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1989. She worked for Duckwall-Alco for 26 years.
Survivors include a son, Robert D. Townsend, Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Nancy C. Sherwood, Abilene; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Danner Funeral Home, Abilene; burial in Abilene Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Home Health of Dickenson County, or First Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
