Sylvestor Heiland
Sylvester "Ves" Heiland, 63, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney.
He was born Feb. 23, 1945, to Fred and Ivra Heiland.
He married Jeanne Tasset on June 19, 1967. He later married Janet Fulton on April 28, 2001. He was a self-employed auto mechanic until retiring in 2000, when he moved to Ellis. He was a U.S Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; a son, Brian Heiland and wife, Wendy, Spearville; two daughters, Lisa Grubb and husband, Tom, Ellis, and Alicia Allen and husband, Rod, Broomfield, Colo.; five brothers, Tony Heiland, Wichita, Jerry Heiland and Bernard Heiland, both Dodge City, Fred Heiland, Spearville, and Bill Heiland, Denver; three sisters, Mary Martinez, Topeka, Monica Carmichael, Dodge City, and Judy Konrade, Spearville; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Cremation has taken place, and family will have a celebration of life services at a later date.
Wasinger-Keithley Funeral Chapel, Ellis, is in charge of arrangements.
