Roy H. Smith

Roy H. Smith, 90, Hoxie, formerly of St. Marys, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at Sheridan County Long Term Care, Hoxie.

He was born April 15, 1918, in Onaga, to Ira and Rosa (Rezac) Smith. He attended school in St. Clere and Emmett.

He married Cleo Clark on March 8, 1941. She preceded him in death June 19, 2007. He owned and operated Smith Plumbing and Rentals.

Survivors include two sons, Stephen R. Smith, Cleveland, Ga., and Richard R. Smith, Reading, Pa.; two daughters, Carol Poell, Hoxie, and Jeannie Wilbert, Billings, Mont.; 13 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant twin son, Stuart Clark Smith.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Methodist Church, St. Marys; burial in St. Clere Cemetery, near Emmett.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Piper Funeral Home, St. Marys.

Memorials are suggested to Sheridan County Long Term Care, Hoxie, in care of the funeral home.
