Nicholas P. "Nick" Rohr, 86, Gorham, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at Russell Regional Hospital.
He was born Aug. 16, 1922, in Antonino to Peter P. and Mary (Klaus) Rohr.
He married Martina (Leiker) on Aug. 12, 1946, in Victoria. He was a farmer at Foster Estate in Gorham from 1947 to 1986 and custodian for Gorham Grade School for five years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, both of Gorham, the American Legion and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, both of Russell.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; three daughters, Mary Kuhn, Gorham, Rita Clenney and husband, Larry, and Delores Boettcher and husband, Paul, all of Russell; three brothers, Alfred "Fred" Rohr, Victoria, Victor Rohr, Ellsworth, and Alvin Rohr, El Dorado; two sister-in-laws, Doris Rohr, Hays, and Rosaline Rohr-Rome, Victoria; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Cyril Rohr and Robert Rohr; and five sisters, Odilla Rohr, Clementine Braun, Agnes Gross, Philomena Braun and Clarita Braun,
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Gorham; burial in St. Mary Cemetery, with military honors by the Russell VFW.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Cline's Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria, KS 67671, and from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
A Gorham Daughter of Isabella rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. today, a vigil at 7 p.m., followed by a Gorham Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30 p.m., all at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to St. Mary Catholic Church, Gorham, or Masses in care of the mortuary.
