Marion F. Long
Marion F. Long, 96, Hays, formerly of New Almelo, died Thursday, July 17, 2008.
He was born July 2, 1912, in Norton County to Adolf and Ollie (Pool) Long.
He was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Long, Hays; nine sons, Kenneth Long, Nixa, Mo., Roger Long, New Almelo, Joseph Long, Climax Springs, Mo., Tom Long, Woodruff, Floyd Long, Kimball, Neb., Frank Long, Elizabeth, Mo., Fred Long, Independence, Gary Long, Hill City, and Leonard Long, Logan; five daughters, Rita Barker, Hays, Rhonda Rice, Moundridge, Irene Schieferecke, McPherson, Imogene McDougal, Lexington, Neb., and Geraldine Baalman, Grinnell; two brothers, Ernest Long, Lenora, and Francis Long, Beloit; 36 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Lawrence.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Almelo; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday, both at St. Joseph Parish Center, New Almelo.
A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the parish center.
Memorials are suggested to the church or St. John's Nursing Home, Hays, in care of Pauls Funeral Home, Oberlin.

We are so sorry to learn of Uncle Marion's death. He had a good, long life and a wonderful wife and family. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.
