Kenneth James Webster

Kenneth James "Jim" Webster, 76, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita.

He was born Jan. 4, 1932, in Wichita to Harry E. and Mary E. (Etter) Webster. He was a 1950 graduate of Caldwell High School, attended Garden City Junior College and Southwestern College and graduated from Fort Hays State College in 1959 with a teaching degree.

He married Carol Lee DeFord on July 17, 1952, in Clayton, N.M. He taught for 22 years at Skyline High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Steve Webster, Wichita; three daughters, Elaine Webster, Penny and Tasha Wilkinson, all of Pratt; a brother, John Webster, Austin, Texas; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Greg.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Pratt; burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be until 8 p.m. today at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt.

Memorials are suggested to Skyline School Foundation of the First United Methodist Church in care of the mortuary.
