Betty Lee Johnson

Betty Lee Johnson, 84, Abilene, formerly of Hill City, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at Memorial Hospital, Abilene.

She was born April 16, 1924, in Morland to Arthur and Folsom Mamie (Born) Strong.

She married Eugene V. Johnson on May 7, 1941, in Hays. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2006.

Survivors include a son, Larry Johnson, Litchfield, Ariz.; a daughter, Charlene Cook, Abilene; two brothers, Don Strong, Mountain View, Ark., and Bob Strong, Dighton; and two grandsons, Matthew and Ben Cook.

She was preceded in death by a son, Frank.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stinemetz Funeral Home, Hill City; private inurnment will take place.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials are suggested to Kobler Center/DSNWK in care of the funeral home.
