Ivalee N. Bennett
Ivalee N. Bennett, 72, Stockton, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at Good Samaritan Health Systems, Kearney, Neb.
She was born Oct. 9, 1935, to William and Angieline (Jones) Gray. She graduated from Kirwin High School and later from Fort Hays University with a degree in elementary education.
She married Jack L. Bennett on Dec. 31, 1954, in Kensington, He preceded her in death Jan. 28, 2005. She was a first-grade teacher for more than 27 years at Stockton Grade School before retiring.
Survivors include a son, Scott Bennett, Stockton; three daughters, Denise McNulty, Stockton, Deena Lamp, Phillipsburg, and Darcy Wilson, Agassiz British Columbia, Canada; a half-brother, Ron Meyers, Burlington, Colo.; four half-sisters, Joy Bowman and Debra Phelps, both of Littleton, Colo., and Norma Harrison and Kay Carson, both of Burlington, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, Stockton; burial in Stockton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, all at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Rooks County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, the United Methodist Church Silver Belles or the Hands of Harmony in care of the funeral home.
