Esther M. Beckmann

Esther M. Beckmann, 90, Smith Center, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Smith County Memorial Hospital, Smith Center.

She was born June 8, 1917, in Athol to Wilhelm and Emma (Suchland) Kirchhoff.

She was a certified nurse's aide.

Survivors include three sons, Paul Beckmann, Wichita, David Beckmann, Gaylord, and Dennis Beckmann, Athol; three daughters, Helen Dannenberg, Gaylord, Laura Ann Cocoran, Topeka, and Rebecca Powell, South Pine, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church, Athol.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Simmons-Rentschler Mortuary, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the church in care of the mortuary.
