Edith L. Carman

Edith L. Carman, 104, Selden, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Sheridan County Hospital Long Term Care Unit, Hoxie.

She was born Aug. 2, 1904, northwest of Selden in Decatur County to William E. and Daisy (Dawson) Brainard.

She married Carol Carman on Sept. 12, 1920. He preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1975. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Stephen Carman, Selden; three daughters, Barbara Spurgeon, Santee, Calif., Carol Hill, Selden, and Theda McKee, Hoxie; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Selden United Methodist Church; burial in Selden Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, both at Pauls Funeral Home, Selden, and from noon until time of service Friday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Selden United Methodist Church or Sheridan County Long Term Care Unit in care of the funeral home.
