Dennis Lee Franz

Larned - Dennis Lee Franz Ph.D, 62, died August 21, 2008 at the Hospice of Salina.

He was born April 4, 1946 in Great Bend, the son of LaVern E. and Zesper Skelton Franz. He was the Executive Director of EduKan. He was a former professor at Colby Com. College, Fort Hays State, Kansas State University and Kansas State University of Salina, and worked presently for EduKan of Great Bend.

He served in Vietnam from Jan 1966 to Jan 1969.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, lifetime member of the VFW and a former member of the Larned Rotary Club all of Larned.

Survivors include one sister Phyllis Jean Roudybush, Annandale, VA.

Funeral will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday at the First Christian Church, Larned with Rev. Dan Lundgren and Bert Biles Ph.D presiding. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Saturday and 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.

Burial will be in Larned City Cemetery, with Military graveside rites provided by Fort Riley.

Memorials may be sent to the First Christian Church, the Pawnee County Humane Society or EduKan. all in care of Beckwith Mortuary, P.O. Box 477, Larned, KS 67550. Condolence may be sent to the family at wwwbeckwithmortuary.com.
