Bernard 'Ben' J. Wolf

Bernard "Ben" J. Wolf, 87, Hays, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Hays Good Samaritan Center.

He was born Jan. 2, 1922, in rural Gove County to Bernard Anton and Katherine (Zimmerman) Wolf.

He married Hildagard (Schmidtberger) Wolf on Nov. 19, 1946, in Grainfield. She preceded him in death June 17, 2006. He was a farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include two sons, Randall Wolf, Hays, and Bernard Wolf, Grainfield; four daughters, Ronda Kaiser, Quinter, Charlene Williams, Tulsa, Okla., Donna Albers, Oakley, and Judy Ziegler, Overland Park; two brothers, George Wolf, Sun City, Ariz., and Francis Wolf, Benson, Ariz.; a sister, Mary Goede, Eden Prairie, Minn.; 19 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Wolf.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Grainfield; burial in Grainfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter.

A vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Hays Good Samaritan Center or Grainfield Opera House in care of the funeral home.
