Arthur Paul Aich, 78, Hutchinson, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.
He was born June 23, 1931, in Hays to Joseph R. and Frances C. Sweeny Aich. He was a 1949 graduate of St. Joseph Military Academy, Hays. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1953 to 1955.
He married Alma Marie Schumacher on Oct. 28, 1952, in Hays. He was a machinist at Farmland Industries, Eaton Corp. and Collins Industries.
He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church and Loyal Order of the Moose No. 982.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Kenneth Aich, Burrton, and Donald Aich, Hutchinson; a daughter, Debora Cobb and husband, Gary, Burrton; two sisters, Mary Jean Richmeier and husband, E.J., Shell Knob, Mo., and Frances Weaver, Aurora, Colo.; a godson, Glenn Richmeier, Woodland Park, Colo.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joe, Leo and Bob Aich; a godson, Ricky Schumacher; and a nephew, Ron Weaver.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Teresa Catholic Church; burial in Fairlawn Burial Park with military honors by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
A parish rosary will be at 9:30 am Saturday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to St. Teresa Catholic School in care of the mortuary.
