Ambrose A. Weber, 80, Ellis, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at Hays Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 24, 1929, in Ellis to John Sr. and Thresia (Augustine) Weber.
He married Freda Dreiling on June 5, 1951, in Ellis. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2006.
He was a farmer/dairyman. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Ellis Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include three sons, Allen and wife, Kim, Mark and wife, Lisa, all of Ellis, and Brian and wife, Kimberly, Manhattan; six daughters, Susan Geist and husband, Henry, Geri Koerner and husband, Kevin, Mary Hickman and husband, Troy, all of Hays, Rosann Weber, Plainville, Bernie Reifschneider and husband, Bruce, La Crosse, and Brenda Langdon and husband, Troy, Larned; a brother, John Weber Jr., Ellis; four sisters, Katie Eberle, WaKeeney, Anna Geist and Helen Pfeifer, Ellis, and Thresia Aschenbrenner, Brewster; 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Freda; two sons, Ambrose Jr. and Bernard; three brothers, Ig, Joseph and Mike; and two sisters, JoAnna and Josephine.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ellis.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. A Knights of Columbus rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, followed by a wake at 7 p.m., both at the church.
Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's School or the Neuropathy Association in care of Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis.
