HHS standout Karst signs with Fort Hays

Former Hays High School standout Clayton Karst has signed with Fort Hays State University to play baseball.
Karst, a sophomore infielder and catcher at Barton County Community College, is batting .360 through 46 games, with two home runs, 32 RBIs, 34 runs and an on-base percentage of .476.
Karst, who pitched for Hays High, tossed three no-hitters in 2006 and allowed a .102 opponents' batting average, best in the 28-year Frank Leo era. Hitting-wise, Karst set a single season record with a .667 on-base percentage in 2006 and also hit .510 (26-for-51), tops for single-season average.
